Stonewater Manor is steps away from The Thousand Islands Playhouse, City Cruises docks and downtown Gananoque. With one of the best harbourfront views , situated just across from the water we have the best location for  couples and staycationers to enjoy the Thousand Islands in our beautiful century home .

Where history and hospitality meet.

At the turn of the century, a railway ran alongside the Gananoque riverfront, where the Gananque River meets the St. Lawrence, and where Water Street now runs today.

Here, where Water Street meets Stone Street, The Sotnewater Manor was built.

During this period, many opulent homes and mansions were built in the area. The most famous being Boldt Castle, built by Mr. George C. Boldt, the owner of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Names such as Pullman, the inventor of the railway Pullman car, John Jacob Astor a financier of New York City, and Helena Rubenstein, of cosmetic product fame, were all known in the area at that time having built luxurious summer homes in the 1000 Islands.

During the Prohibition Era, the 1000 Islands were a hotbed for smugglers, shipping bootleg liquor across the border in boats.

While the history of the original owner of the Stonewater Manor is still a mystery, it's grandeur remains.

“We had a fantastic stay! We were upgraded to the loft suite and it was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious, comfortable, very clean and it had a great view of the water. The continental breakfast was amazing!! We had mini quiches, croissants, pastries, fruit and waffles. They were very accomodating to me and my husband's food allergies as well. The pub just downstairs from the B&B had great food and drinks too. All in all, I really lovely stay and I hope to be back again soon!”

“This bed and breakfast is absolutely perfect in every meaning of the word! The location is right in the heart of it all. Everything is right outside the doorstep. The food was amazing and I especially loved the breakfast each morning that was left outside our door. There were so many adorable touches such as the toiletries, decor, coffee machine in the room, the porch that over looks the water etc .. I could go on and on. Not only is the place wonderful, but so is the staff. They deserve all of the credit! I highly recommend this place! No one will be disappointed!"
